Showcasing the impact of frictionless biometrics for leaders in retail, dining, and apparel

JPMorgan is building a white-labeled biometric platform to help merchants integrate secure, frictionless payments and authentication into their dining and retail experiences.

Merchants struggled to understand how biometrics could integrate meaningfully into their existing systems and why they should adopt the technology.

Designed a full retail experience across large-screen kiosks and JPM’s PayPad hardware — showing how customers could check in, order, redeem loyalty, and pay with biometrics in under a minute.

Building the brand

Following our conference showcase, the JPM Biometrics Design team partnered with an external branding agency to create a new consumer-facing sub-brand, shaping identity, voice, and visual language across merchant touchpoints.

Brand identity

When constructing our identity, we wanted the experience to remain human, trustworthy, and magical. We utilized our experience mapping consumer flows across dining, ticketing, and sports to guide our overall brand strategy.

I’ve never seen anything like it before!

Reflection & Impact

Adopted across the company

Established the go-to narrative across product, sales, marketing, and partnerships.

Brought into executive client meetings

The experience became product leadership’s go-to narrative for high-value meetings across retail, dining, and apparel.

Featured at major industry events

Presented to payments leaders across 5+ major industry conferences, including MAG, MRC, and more.

The biometrics design team functioned like a scrappy startup within the bank, often moving between blue-sky, 0→1 work to navigating edge cases and details of a payments product. Collaboration and holding numerous whiteboarding sessions with the product team was key to building a cohesive vision.
